Our community is coming together to create a creative green hub in Splott, Cardiff.
We will transform a disused plot of land in Splott into an accessible space for local people to learn, grow, share, and enjoy.
A sustainable community hub building for workshops, events, groups, socials and more.
Affordable shipping container business studios provided by the team behind the Bone Yard.
Food growing and composting areas.
Community bee hives and wildlife habitats to support biodiversity.
Outdoor learning and wild play.
Plus other facilities to be confirmed!
NEWS FROM THE PROJECT
Green Squirrel (Previously Green City!) have been running green
living activities around Cardiff since 2012.
Green Squirrel is run by Becca Clark with help from Hannah and Luke. Becca and Hannah both live
on Railway Street and Luke has previously lived in Adamsdown and Splott. We love our area and
know that - with the right space and resources - our community can do incredible things.
This project is being developed by
Green Squirrel, a local non profit organisation, in partnership with the communities of Splott and Adamsdown.
WHO ARE WE?
Railway Street needs you! If you like the sound of what we're planning then please consider supporting our work.
Right now we need...
Funding to prepare the site in order to get the project off the ground - our initial costs include survey, design and planning fees as well as costs for drainage, power, water, and groundworks. So far we are struggling to cover these costs through grant funding and we are seeking corporate or private donors who share the values of the project and would consider supporting us.
Support and guidance from someone with experience running crowdfunding campaigns as we will be raising funds for elements of the site in this way.
Volunteer admin support to help behind the scenes.
Please get in touch for a chat if you'd like to support the project in any way.
